Smart Charge
Overview
The Smart Charge feature can be accessed through Battery Manager from v2.17.0, or through the Datalogic Settings' Battery Management menu. Keeping a battery at 100% for extended periods exposes it to unnecessary high-voltage and heat stress, both of which accelerate chemical aging and reduce long-term battery longevity. This advanced charging feature provides control over the charging behavior of your fleet, allowing you to align each device's charge cycle with your operational schedule. By reducing time spent at maximum voltage, and minimizing battery cycles, the battery experiences significantly less wear, extending its usable lifespan and improving device availability.
Smart Charge accomplishes this by allowing you to configure the device’s work schedule and its discharge delay. This ensures the battery reaches full charge only when needed to complete a shift, minimizing avoidable stress and preserving performance over time.
